Scholastic Australia Books - June Edition


I have read stories to Niahbella ever since she was born and I think it is such an important part of her learning and development to be reading to her, not only that but it creates such a special moment each night as we read to our little darl. 

We are starting to grow our book collection thanks to Scholastic who will be sending out to us some books each month to be able to share not only together in this household but with all of my readers and give you some insight into the newest books released. 

For June reads we have:

Boa's Bad Birthday RRP $14.99

Everyone loves birthdays and parties. Boa's Bad Birthday brings about a snakes birthday story of how hard it was for Boa's friends to buy him a present for his birthday and ends with the perfect present finally being gifted to him.

Boa's Bad Birthday is a book suited from early age to an early school aged child.

Big Book of Aussie Dinosaurs RRP $16.99

This book was filled with so many different fun facts; that really described what the specific dinosaur would eat and do in its lifetime. It was filled with lots of colourful pictures and what I most loved was the Aussie Dinosaur Gallery which allows the kids to see a cartoon image of the specific dinosaur, have an easy pronunciation guide for the dinosaur names and the meaning behind the name.

Big Book of Aussie Dinosaurs would be a book suitable for an age group of kinder kids and beyond.
Poppy Cat RRP $24.99

This is beautiful book about Poppy the cat who likes to mimic her owner and be a real 'copy cat'.
Poppy Cat was one of our favourites as it was a good simple quick read which is what we usually enjoy before bedtime.
Poppy Cat would be a good read for a child who is starting out reading as it has very little words in it.

Poppy Cat would be an all rounder aged book I think.

Imagine A City RRP $24.99

A good read to get those minds drifted off into the land of imagination as a Mother and her two children set off into a city of imagination. 
A stunning black and white book that has very detailed pictures that are so life like you are almost sucked into the book and feel as if you are there in that moment. 
Imagine A City has very little words and really leaves your imagination at play, this would also be a fantastic read for those children who are starting to read as well. 

Imagine A City would be a suitable book for pre-kinder to early school kids.

Daddy & daughter afternoon reads with Boa's Bad Birthday


A great way to get the kids really into there reading is by giving them an item that reflects what is in the book reading. Here we gave Niah a little dinosaur (lochness monster really) and we related them back to the pictures within Big Book of Aussie Dinosaurs.

Bakers Delight - What tea time means to me

I was questioned - What does tea time mean to you?

Tea time for me, means being able to enjoy a few moments to reflect on my day and allow myself to be able to rejuvenate and refresh myself for the rest of the day I need to tackle with a very busy little 9 month old. 

 

Niah was teething heaps in the last few weeks and it really had me up at all hours of the night as the poor darl would wake in pain and on top of that was sick for a long period of time with a runny nose so I found that I would be needing a rest in the afternoon and I know that is I was to take a nap I would not be able to sleep at night time so I needed to find another way to ensure I could conquer through the rest of my busy days, that's when I made a stand and I would pop Niah into her highchair, give her some little tea time too. Giving Niah a drink of water and some crackers whilst Mumma sat at the kitchen tea with her gorgeous Cristina Re cup and saucer sipping on a Green Tea with Pomegranate (hot drink of choice and especially in these colder days ahead), flipping through some mags or having a little chit chat with Niah - not that Niah can talk back to me but I am happy to take her baby chatter

Being a Mum it's important to have some rest time as is it for anyone else to bring yourself back to full life. 
If you aren't having these breaks, then do - It just makes you feel so much better afterwards!

EHPLabs - Acetyl L-Carnitine on Shred Stack Review


Another one that isn't something of the unfamiliar for me is Acetyl L-Carnitine! This baby has always been my sidekick when it comes to training.
Acetyl L-Carnitine helps to aid in the movement of fat stores. Now in my goal to lose weight this is right on the mark and exactly what I need!




















My first thought on opening Acetyl L-Carnitine was probably the best yet from any supplement or amino acid company - this was filled right to the brim of that container it came in! Now this is massive kudos and every company who makes these sorts of supplement aids needs to be following in the footsteps of EHPLabs. You definitely want your monies worth as these products are quite a sting on the pocket.

EHPLabs Acetyl L-Carnitine is probably the sourest I've tasted but that's more of a good thing compared to the others I have had before, the reason for the sourness of the product is because it is a 100% pure pharmaceutical grade quality. I would describe the scent of the Acetyl L-Carnitine smelling like bicarb soda or vinegar.
Other L-Carnitine's taste really fishy to me so it was such a better change to not be so turned off by the product after opening the lid and better on the breath also!

SHRED STACK - Oxyshred in Kiwi Strawberry & Acetyl L-Carnitine
I chuck 3 micro scoops into my Oxyshred shake daily - straight in the morning to get yourself going and kick start your day for optimum results. This also takes away some of the sourness of the Acetyl L-Carntine and makes into a flavored stack.
The reason why you add in the Acetyl L-Carnitine to your Oxyshred is to create the 'Shred Stack' effect which gets your body into a high level of fat burning (hyper-lyposis). 

The micro scoop is very 'micro'.

BEFORE:
When I wake up in the morning it's never on my own accord, it's by my little darling Niah screaming Mum or letting out little cries to say 'Mum, I'm awake now and would like to get out of my cot for breakfast and have a play' so as you can imagine I'm still half asleep upon getting up.
Niah & I head into the kitchen and it's a 1 scoop Oxyshred & 3 micro scoops Acetyl L-Carnitine and after waiting 20mins it's time for breakfast. There is definitely a clean out of your system from the products in the morning and then after doing such little work in the morning I am already heated and can feel my body temperature rising.

DURING:
I have been taking Oxyshred and Acetyl L-Carnitine as a stack now for coming onto 3 weeks now and I thought I'ld give myself a test on how I would go by having a few days off of training and supplements and then go again.
Let me tell you the workout of going back in when I hit the gym within the first 10 mins felt like I'ld had been there for a good few hours workout already. By the end of my workout it was saturated wet clothing, reddest face ever and heavy breathing - which is exactly the explosive workout I want when trying to lose weight! 

AFTER:
I shower all the time at the gym now as I can't wait to be able to shower at home. My body needs that fast cool down after a workout and not to mention sweaty galore needs to be gone! 
The smallest of workouts really do show that the product works as it makes you feel like you've been there for ages working out as I said above. 


Oxyshred is used twice a day when you are training and can also be used as a pick me up when feeling flat in the afternoons. I usually have my second dose around 4pm so I am actually motivated to get into the kitchen and cook for dinner always I'm usually lazing on the couch hoping some magic dinner fairy will arrive to play Chef for us. 
Oxyshred does up lift you if you are feeling flat and give you a bit of a boost to waken you up.

Build Your Imagination with LEGO - Watergardens Town Centre + GIVEAWAY


Watergardens Town Centre will transform into a world of creativity and wonder from Monday 23rd June to Sunday 13th July, with a myriad of LEGO® models, LEGO® brick zone and speed play activities.

For three weeks, five of the most impressive models will be seen all under the one roof including; Apollo 11 Rocket which is the tallest Lego model in Australia and includes over 120,000 pieces;
ELVIS Erikson Air Crane Helicopter measuring 4.2m wide by 3m high and has only been shown once
in Melbourne before; Lego Love boat, a replica of the 1980s love boat show which includes over 250,000 LEGO® pieces; a cutaway of the Sydney Opera House displaying the interior during a concert; and the Sydney Harbour Mystery Mosaic, a first for Victoria, which will be built on the site by the customers and will include over 170,000 LEGO® pieces.

In addition to the LEGO® model exhibit, Watergardens Town Centre will host a LEGO® Brick Zone, which allows children to build their own models and allows even the youngest of builder to enjoy putting together their own creations with LEGO DUPLO® bricks.

There will also be Speed Play competitions, meet and greets with Max, The LEGO Club mascot and an adventure treasure hunt.

“We are very excited to host LEGO® activities and bring great family entertainment to Watergardens Town Centre, and best of all its free. it's a great chance for children and families to learn through play with one of the most-loved toys of all time,'' says Senior Centre Manager, Greg Balmforth.

Pegged as a must-see event these School Holidays, the LEGO® Brick Zone is set to bring out creativity and master builders!

Open from Monday 23 June - Sunday 13 July 2014, the LEGO® event will capture the imagination and creativity of children and parents near and far.

The event includes:

• LEGO displays built by professional LEGO® builders, including a rocket, helicopter, Love boat and
the Sydney Opera House.

• A mystery mosaic to be built by consumers.

• A FREE building area, with different bricks to play with and create.

• Meet and greet with Max, the LEGO® Club mascot.

• Plus much more activities for the whole family.


Watergardens is home to Target, Big W, two Woolworths, Coles, HOYTS and over 200 specialty stores. Watergardens is easily accessible from any part of Melbourne by using the Calder Freeway on the M1 and then exiting at the Melton exit.
