Healthy Breakfast Ideas with Papaya/Paw Paw
Being at the age of 23 now and having just had fresh raw Papaya or Paw Paw for the first time in my life! The only time I had ever had this was on my lips - you know that Lucas Paw Paw we all carry around in our handbags, that was it for me.
Why Papaya's?
Papaya's are actually one of the healthiest fruits available to us. They are a good source of fibre, folate, vitamin A, C and E. Boosts immune system, supports cardiovascular system, revitalises our bodies - maintain energy and vitality. And the list goes on!
I got a little creative in the kitchen and put together three (3) healthy breakfast options to have with Papaya -
Papaya Smoothie
Smoothie in a bowl like I did or in a cup
I blended up some Papaya, pear, banana, watermelon and almond milk creating a smoothie consistency and placed it into a bowl - topped it with some toasted granola, shredded coconut, dried figs, chia seeds and more fresh cut up papaya and ate this with a spoon!!
My little girl Niah whose nearly 10 months old now had a smoothie mix as well but I added in some yoghurt for a more thicker consistency for her, definitely can say she was very much a fan of this and enjoyed eating papaya raw as well.
Papaya & Lime on Toast
I loved this one! Who would have ever thought papaya and lime on toast would taste this good! It was a really refreshing and different breakfast to what I normally would have but it was sooo delicious!
I had some fig toast and cut up slices of papaya and drizzled lime juice all over it - mhmm mmm finger licking good! You really need to try this if you haven't already.
Papaya Chia Pudding
I have been known for mixing up some chia pudding a lot in my weight loss journey and posting it on my social media channels of the night before preps and in the morning with what I decide to put as my toppings.
Chia Seeds are so good for you as they are full of Omega 3, high in fibre and they fill you up. Chia Seeds swell up causing a water absorption - in this case some coconut or almond milk absorption and are like this pearl jelly texture when eating them.
My little Chia Pudding recipe is (for those who haven't already gotten it from me via messages, as this was a major hit and I was sending my recipe out nonstop after posting my images) -
1/4 cup of Chia Seeds - any chia seeds of your choice.
1 cup of Milk - either coconut, almond or maybe coconut water, again your choice.
1 tablespoon of honey/agave or syrup - I used golden syrup in this one.
Mix this all into a jar overnight or container and leave it to work it's magic overnight.
In the morning you will come to your 'pudding' - the selection of toppings to go with the Chia Pudding is completely up to you but to make it a 'Papaya Chia Pudding' add in some fresh, raw cut up papaya and top with some shredded coconut.
Exercising is really a enormous element with a wholesome Healthy Lifestyle. It's a large disbelief that we need to participate in large depth cardio routines to maintain a normal heart.
