Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story on Stage REVIEW

Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story on Stage who would have thought that you could have turned a much loved move into a theatrical production musical, well it's been done.

When I got together with a girlfriend to attend the exclusive opening night of Dirty Dancing here in Melbourne along with the some of the big shots like AFL players, NRL players, Australian TV actors and musicians I knew I was in for a good night but we were both feeling a bit puzzled in how this could be a musical and what they would sing about.

Dirty Dancing is as we know when everyone fell in love with Patrick Swayze all over again. What a looker he was in the day hey.

This theatrical production is a great night out for the girls or a hens. The capturing of the actors who play Babe and Johnny give such chemistry on stage that you truly believe they are real lovers.
Brilliantly preformed and not a single flaw to critique on for this production.

It had been so long ago that I had watched the movie Dirty Dancing that it was good to relive the movie through a live performance. Not only that but because I am now older it made me understand the movie a lot more and boy did I miss some of the parts that just wouldn't have clicked as a kid.
Extra additional parts were put into this production that gave the audience a few laughs like the 'I carried a watermelon' scene.

The well known songs from the movie like 'Hungry Eyes', 'Do You Love Me' and especially 'The Time of My Life' songs are what I was longing for, I was hanging out to hear them live from the actors and broke out in song, along with many other audience guests to the music.

A show that is on point choreographed and had of course the famous signature move that leaves you wanting to dive straight into Johnny's arms on stage for your swan moment. The actors sure did make those steps look super easy as they moved around the stage with such grace.
